Transporting Musical Instruments as Carry-on Baggage
If you intend to transport a large musical instrument such as a cello on board, you are advised to follow the instructions below. |
| |
You should contact Korean Air Service Center (☎1588-2001) to reserve a seat to transport your instrument as carry-on baggage. |
| |
As a large instrument will occupy an extra seat when carried into the cabin, the passenger must purchase an extra standard one-way, adult-fare flight ticket in lieu of excess baggage charges. |

Transporting Musical Instruments as Checked Baggage
To transport large musical instruments, such as cellos, as check-in baggage, passengers can complete standard baggage check-in procedures at the check-in counter. |
A musical instrument can be checked-in free of charge as long as the total baggage weight, the pieces, and the size of each baggage, including the musical instrument, are within the free baggage allowance. |
NOTES |
Due to possible damage occurring during transport, passengers should pack instruments with care in hard cases and with ample shock absorbing material/padding. |
Passengers are required to complete an agreement authorizing the airline to transport their instruments. |
