Special Assistance / Special Meals


Korean Air offers special meals to meet passengers’ specific dietary needs for health, religious or age reasons. Special meals must be ordered at least 24 hours prior to flight departure time. Available only in flights where inflight meals are served. The listed special meals are only available on flights from Seoul. Some special meals may not be prepared for flights departing from overseas stations due to caterer’s limited availability.

Medical Meals
As part of our special meal selection, Korean Air offers a wide range of Medical meals which are carefully prepared and produced, based on medical and nutritional expertise, for passengers with special dietary requirements due to medical reasons. Korean Air’s medical meal program has been researched and examined in cooperation with the experts group of Inha University hospital. Also, further information of nutrition facts can be provided if required. As Korean Air’s medical meal program is only designed to meet general dietary requirements, a person’s constitution as well as medical history may not be considered.
Low Fat Meal

Daily intake of fat is restricted under 30g per day

Diabetic Meal
Daily allowance of calorie, protein, fat and sugar are carefully calculated and prepared with good balance between each meal
Low Calorie Meal
Limited calorie meal helping weight control
Low Protein Meal
Daily intake of protein is reduced under 40g per day
High Fiber Meal
A medical meal containing fiber up to 20~25g per day
Bland Meal
The meal is suitable for passengers with intestinal or stomach disorders
Gluten Intolerant Meal
A medical meal without wheat, barley, rye, or oats containing gluten
Liquid Diet Meal
These diets are suitable for passengers with chewing or swallowing problems as a result of surgery
Low Salt Meal
Daily intake of sodium is limited to less than 5g per day
Low Lactose Meal
A medical meal with no dairy products such as milk, milk solids, cream, etc
Low Purine Meal
Daily intake of purine is limited to less than 150mg
Peanut Allergy Passenger Information
 
 As food ingredients containing peanut element, peanut oil or other peanut products are commonly used worldwide, we can not guarantee peanut-free snacks and meals even if we do not use peanuts in our catering production process.

Flights Leaving Seoul

In some short-haul flights between Korea and Japan, or between Korea and China, only sandwiches or seaweed roll without heating is served. As for flights to Seoul, the menus are subject to change according to local food supply.
