Q1: Can I order special meals? Special meals can be ordered to accommodate health, religion, culture and age conditions. The meals are prepared according to IATA regulations. Please request special meals at least 24 hours prior to departure. Q2: What are special meals? Special meals are provided for passengers with various conditions. (religion, health) For those who are allergic to certain ingredients, meals will be prepared without those contents. Please advice the reservation agent at least 24 hours prior to departure. (special meals are only available in the flights that serve in-flight meals) Q3: Are there any children meals? Children meals are available for kids between the ages of 2-11. Q4: What are types of wine served on Korea Air flights? French wine is served in all flights along with local wine of the destination. (Californian and Chilean wine is served on US routes, German white wine on flights to/from Germany, Italian wine on flights to/from Rome, Australian wine on flights to/from Australia and New Zealand) Red and white wines are served in all class. There have been complaints that not enough of serving is provided on certain economy class. Korean Air prepares 2 types of meals for long-distance flights, and when most of the passengers choose one of the meals, the rest of the passengers are left with what is available. Bibimbop for example is a very popular menu and Korean Air tries to prepare sufficient amount according to the number of reserved seats. However, the estimated amount may not be enough on certain flights leaving some of the passengers without a choice. Q6: Does Korean Air prepare in-flight meals? Though many assume that Korean Air prepares all in-flight meals, airline-catering company located at the airport prepares most of the meals for international flights. Therefore Korean Air may prepare in-flight meals for international airlines in Seoul.
