Miles accrued with SKYPASS may be redeemed for use by eligible family members. Members with insufficient miles may also redeem awards by supplementing miles from immediate family members through the Family Plan.
SKYPASS member can endorse awards to registered family members by deducting his/her own miles.
The member must have sufficient miles for the desired award in his/her own SKYPASS account.
What is Family Plan?
Family Plan allows members with insufficient miles to redeem his/her awards by supplementing miles from immediate family members.
When redeeming an award through the Family Plan, all miles from the member’s own SKYPASS account will be deducted first.

How to Apply Family Registration
Family registration must be completed prior to endorsing an award to family members or to redeeming an award through the Family Plan.
Family Proof Document
For residents of Korea, acceptable
forms of documentation include legal documents such as family
registers or resident registration.
For residents of other countries,
acceptable forms of documentation include legal documents
such as family registers, resident registration, birth certificates,
marriage certificates, returns, etc
How to Apply Family Registration
Online

Please go to
SKYPASS > My SKYPASS > Online Family Registration] and complete the application
and attach the required documents in an image format (JPG
files).
Fax

Please fax the
completed family registration application and the required
documents to 213-484-5790 (US and Canada) or to 02-2656-8989
(within Korea only).
Off-line

Please visit
Korean Air Office and submit the application with the required
documents.

Processing Time
: Family registrations submitted are generally processed within
1~2 days of receipt. Please allow extra time during weekends
and national holidays.

Alert : When registration is complete, a text message will
be sent to the mobile phone number provided (within Korea
only).

NOTES
Family registration does not allow miles to accrue under one member’s account or to create a joint family account. Regardless of family registration, miles are accrued to the individual SKYPASS account of the traveling member. Family registration and award redemption will be done simultaneously at the time of award issuance.
The purpose of family registration is to confirm family relationships. For protection of privacy, we do not provide family members’ personal information including their accrued mileage status.
Family registration is available only to SKYPASS members and therefore, individuals must first enroll in SKYPASS membership.
In the event of changes in the registered family members (divorce and/or decease), please contact Korean Air to update your family registration. Requests to delete a member from the family registration can be made through contacting the Korean Air Service Center or visiting the nearest office.
How to Endorse Awards to Family Members
Requesting Online
Log into the Korean Air’s website.

The member whose
miles will be deducted for an award endorsement must login.
Select the award type in the [Award Booking]

Award types
available for online redemption include Korea domestic and
international flight award tickets, upgrade awards, and hotel
awards (Jeju and Seogwipo KAL Hotels).
Select the family
member to receive the award in the [Select Passenger] step.

Passenger selection is limited to pre-registered family members.
Finish the award
issuance by completing the Select
Flight > Confirm/Add to Itinerary > Make Reservation/Purchase
steps.

e-Ticket Itinerary & Receipt will be sent to the e-mail address entered. The traveling family member may print the e-Ticket Itinerary and bring it to the airport on the day of travel.
Requesting through Branch Office
To issue an award, please visit a Korean Air’s branch office with the following documents:
Minors without valid identification may instead submit documents confirming family relationship (family register, resident registration, birth certificate, etc.).
