Korean Air operates a system of ‘ad valorem’ duties that guarantees the compensation of reported item value in the case of damage or loss if a fixed extra fee corresponding to the flight route is paid by the passenger. Passengers must be able to provide supporting evidence for any reported item value, and the maximum item value that can be reported is USD 2,500. |
 |
Ad valorem duties are calculated as USD 0.50 per USD 100 of item value reported. For further details, passengers should consult an airline employee at baggage check-in. |
