Airport Service/Check-In

Check-in is the service at the airport that enables you to have your seat assigned and baggage checked, and also to obtain a boarding pass for your flight.

Documents you need to bring

Before you leave, make sure that you
have the following travel documents with you:

1. Passport
2. Visa(if required by a country you’re visiting)
3. Ticket (e-ticket receipt for e-tickets)
4. The credit card used in the online transaction if booking was made online.
Make sure to check the passport expiry date.
  Most countries require that the passport be valid for minimum six months from the date of entry to the country.

Check-In Procedures and Boarding Time Information
Recommended Airport Arrival Time – 2 hours prior to scheduled flight departure
- Due to heightened security, for flights from/to North America, it is recommended that you arrive at the airport earlier and allow more than 2 hours for check-in time.
   
Check-In Close – 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure
- Due to heightened security, for flights from/to North America and Europe, check-in counter will be closed 60 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.
   
Customs, Security Check and the Immigration
- Customs: Declaration of any high-priced items and/or prohibited items.
- Security Check: Inspection for any dangerous articles.
- Immigration: Inspection of departure/entry qualifications.
 
Boarding – 35 minutes prior to scheduled departure time
- Boarding starts 35 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, and will be closed 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
 
Check-In Information for Code-share Flights
What is a code-share flight?
  - To provide more flight options, Korean Air offers code-share flights with partner airlines on routes and schedules that are not served by Korean Air. By code-sharing, Korean Air is assigned a certain number of seats which will be served to Korean Air passengers. Korean Air handles reservations and ticketing for such code-share flights, however the actual flight service will be provided by the operating partner airline.
The check-in for code-share flights are provided by the operating carrier (partner airline).

How to check a code-share flight!
   - In the restrictions box on your ticket, the name of the operating carrier is stated.
