According to their type, pets may be carried into the cabin or must be checked-in. |
|
Korean Air permits small household pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, etc., and if a pet exceeds 5kg/11lbs including the carrying box, it must be checked in. |
|
Transporting animals and/or insects other than dogs, cats, and pet birds through a plane is not allowed and thus we recommend our passengers make inquiries about transportation of such an animal and/or insect to a freight agency. |
|
As regulations regarding the transport of pets can vary by country, passengers should confirm what documents, such as quarantine certificates, health certificates, rabies immunization reports, etc., are required, and should prepare them accordingly. |

If you check in an animal or insect that is not allowed to be transported through a plane, or carry it on board, your boarding may be rejected. |

The following type of transport containers (cages) must be prepared for use with pets during travel. |

Containers with ample space that allows pets to move around without difficulty |

Firm containers made from metal, wood, plastic, etc. |

(However, cloth or leather containers are allowed for carry-on pets) |
| |
|
Containers that are equipped with air ventilator and is water resistant |
| |
|
Locks (must be able to be opened from the outside in the case of an emergency), water resistant |
| |
|
Lined with paper, a cloth towel, blanket, etc. |
| |
|
Containers with owner’s name and contact information written clearly on the outside |
|
The transport of pets is subject to fixed excess baggage charges regardless of personal baggage allowances. |
|
Guide dogs for the disabled/blind are transported free of charge |
