Q1: How can I earn SKYPASS miles?

First you must become a SKYPASS member.
Passengers of 2 years of age and older can enroll and there is no enrollment or annual fee.

75% of adult mileage will be credited to Junior members for normal tickets.

Q3: I would like to request mileage accumulation but do not have the boarding pass or ticket invoice, what do I do?

You can receive the ticket invoice from Korean Air office or agency where ticket was issued.
It's easier to locate your ticket invoice if you can provide the issued date.
Mileage can be credited to your account within 1 year of departure date.

Q4: Why do group tickets only accumulate 80% of the travel mileage?
|
|
Mileage accumulation is based on the travel miles and fare basis of the ticket.
Since group tickets are cheaper than tickets of normal fare only 80% of mileage is credited.
(Mileage will not be credited to a ticket of 50% discount or more.)

Q5: Can I request mileage accumulation for a boarding that took place 5 years ago?

In addition, monthly mileage summary and Korean Air news can be sent to your e-mail.

Q7: If an extra seat was purchased to bring a cello into the passenger cabin, will the mileage for the extra seat be credited to my account?
|
|
Frequent Flyer Program only credits mileage for passengers.
Therefore, mileage for the extra seat purchased for a cello will not be credited.
Mileage for only one passenger will be credited even if an extra seat is purchased upon passengers' need (extra seat, cabin baggage, and stretcher).

Q8: If the parent paid for the ticket, will the mileage be credited to the parent's account?
|
|
Since the mileage program honors the frequent flyers, airlines providing the mileage programs all credit the travel miles to the ticketed member.

Q9: During my travel in US, I took Delta Airlines for domestic routes. How can I register my miles?
|
|
Mileage accumulation is possible only if you became a SKYPASS member prior to your trip.
Submit the boarding pass and passenger coupon to Korean Air office within 1 year of departure date.

Q10: I was on Air France bound to Seoul from Paris two days ago. Even though I provided my account number during reservation, mileage still has not been accumulated. What do I do?

Since the boarding information must be processed by another airline,
it takes 3-10 days for mileage to be credited to your account if you travel on partner airlines.

Q11: I 'm registered in both SKYPASS and Delta mileage program. Can I transfer the mileage from Delta to Korean Air?
|
|
When you travel on a partner airline, you can only earn mileage in one frequent flyer program for each trip.
Mileage cannot be transferred to another program once credited.

Q12: Can mileage be earned other than by airline travel?
|
|
Mileage can be earned through non-airline partners such as credit card, hotel, rental car and finance companies.

|
|
SKYPASS account number must be provided upon reservation.
Mileage may not be credited for discounted rates.
Please check with partner companies.

|
|
It takes 6-8 weeks for mileage to be credited to your account for the use of partner companies.
There may be several reasons why mileage may not been awarded (SKYPASS membership card was not presented upon check-in,
Discount rate does not qualify for mileage accumulation).
Please contact the hotel or Korean Air office for more details.

Q15 : How do I accumulate SKYPASS miles? How do I confirm my miles?
|
Simply state your SKYPASS membership account number when making reservations and present your SKYPASS membership card when checking-in at Korean Air or other SKYPASS partners. This will ensure that your mileage will automatically be credited to your account.

Q16 : Why do I earn only 70% of the actual mileage from discount economy fares on B,Q,X and V booking classes? (Travel from/to South East Asia, South West Asia, Oceania, North Asia, and Japan)

As of April 1, 2002, B,Q,X and V fare classes on Korean Air are qualified for only 70% of actual mileage credits,
because these fare types are considered to be very low promotional discount fares.
For this reason, only 70% of actual mileage is credited into the SKYPASS accounts.

Q17 : How can I claim missing mileage?
|
|
Please mail the original boarding pass(es) along with your SKYPASS account number and the matching
ticket to our SKYPASS Service Center. If you no longer have your tickets and you made your purchase with a travel agency,
you may be able to obtain a copy through that agency. Mileage claim must be made within one (1) year from the travel date and
you must be an enrolled member in SKYPASS program prior to travel. Please keep a photocopy of your ticket coupon(s) and boarding pass(es) for your records before mailing.

Q18 : I just signed up for the SKYPASS program as soon as I returned from my trip, can I receive mileage credit for this past trip?
|
|
Korean Air does not provide retroactive credit for past travel.
SKYPASS mileage accumulation is effective from the date of enrollment in SKYPASS program.

Q19 : How can I claim missing mileage for hotel and car rentals mileage partners?
|
|
Please send the hotel bill or car rental receipt to the SKYPASS Service Center address listed above.
Mileage claim must be made within 180 days from the date of check-in/car rental pick-up.
