Baggage Claim and tips
After completing immigration and customs clearance procedure, please refer to the flight arrival information for your baggage claim area.
At the baggage claim area, please make sure that you have the right baggage by checking the baggage tag.
If you are carrying goods to declare, please fill out the “customs declaration form” distributed during flight and present it along with your passport to customs officials at the customs clearance area upon arrival.

Baggage Loss, Damage and/or Delay
Upon arrival, if your baggage has not arrived,

Other Baggage Claims
For claims based on damage to checked baggage or contents missing from checked baggage, Korean Air must be notified in writing within 7 days of your receipt of the checked baggage. For claims based on delayed baggage delivery, Korean Air must be notified in writing 21 days of your receipt of the checked baggage.
If your baggage has been lost or delayed, Korean Air may, at its discretion, provide an immediate disbursement of between $50 and $200 at the airport, in consideration of reasonable out of pocket expenses that you may incur as a result of the delay. This disbursement does not constitute a limit or cap on Korean Air’s potential liability for such expenses. In the event you seek to recover reasonable expenses in excess of this disbursement, you must submit a claim to Korean Air along with copies of all receipts documenting such expenses, and that any disbursements will be deducted from the final settlement.
NOTES
Preventing loss of baggage
  1. Attach your name and contact information to your baggage.
  2. Confirm the details of your baggage tag including the
  destination, quantity, weight, and name.
  3. Compare your baggage check tag and the tag attached to the
baggage to ensure you don’t take the wrong baggage.

Limited Liability and Compensation
International carriage of baggage by air is subject to the Montreal Convention or the Warsaw Convention, depending on your journey. Korean Air’s liability in the case of baggage destruction loss, Damage or delay typically is limited to
1,131 Special Drawing Rights per passenger for checked and Unchecked baggage where the Montreal Convention applies; or
20USD per 1.0 kilogram/2.2pounds of checked baggage where the Warsaw Convention applies.
Higher liability limits apply if, at the time of handing your checked baggage over to the airline(s), you make a special Declaration of interest and pay a supplementary sum.
