Q1: What are the dates for peak/off-peak season air fares? Seasons for air fares vary depending upon the travel date and itinerary. To check international fares, please visit Travel Planning –Book Online. Q2: How old is considered an infant? If an infant is under 2 years of age (between 14 days and 24 months from the date of birth) at the time of the first flight, and is not occupying a seat, the airfare will be 10% of the accompanying adult’s airfare. For safety reasons, a seat must be purchased for a child over 24 months of age. Q3: Can I pay infant fare if the child is 23 months upon departure and 25 moths upon return? Infant fare will apply as long as the infant is under 24 months at the time of the first departure flight, regardless of the returning date. However, if you have a connecting flight, a ticket must be purchased for any child over 24 months for safety reasons. For certain airlines, infant airfares are based upon the date of each flight segment rather than the entire itinerary. Please confirm this information prior to ticket purchase by calling the Korean Air Service Center. Q4: Who is eligible for child fare? For a child between 2 and 12 years of age at the time of the first flight, 75% of the accompanying adult’s fare will apply. Q5: I would like to send a 10 year-old child to Korea alone. What is the fare? A child under 5 years of age may not travel alone without an accompanying adult. Children between 5 and 12 years of age may travel without an accompanying adult through Korean Air’s “Unaccompanied Minor (UM) Service”. Airfares for Unaccompanied Minors vary depending upon the travel date and itinerary. Please contact the Korean Air Service Center for the UM airfare information. Q6: How much is the fare for an incapacitated passenger? If a passenger must travel lying down, extra seats must be purchased to install the bed. Total of 6 seats for one-way must be purchased and you'll pay the full amount for the 6 tickets. During travel, a guardian and/or medical personnel must accompany the passenger. The fare for the accompanying passenger must also be paid. The passenger must complete the necessary procedures if an ambulance is needed upon arrival. Reservation must be made at least 7 days prior to departure for airline approval.
