As of January 1, 2019, Korean Air will charge No-Show Penalty to Korean Air ticket holders who cancel boarding after entering the departure area.

No-show Penalty

No-Show Penalty will be imposed on passengers who do not cancel their reservations and do not show up for their flights. Also, the penalty will be imposed on passengers who do not board their flights after completion of the check-in process.

  • Additional no-show penalty (USD 200, CAD 270, GBP 160) will be charged to passengers who cancel boarding after entering the departure area.
  • Effective Date : January 1, 2019 (Ticketing date)  be subject to approval of government

  • The amount of the penalty may be different based on the country of departure.
  • Reissue and refund charges may apply separately.
  • The following mileage shall be deducted as a no-show penalty for refund on award ticket:
    12,000 miles for long haul, 7,000 miles for medium haul, 5,000 miles for short haul, and 500 miles for domestic flights in Korea.
