What you should know
- The seat map provided on the Korean Air website may be different from the actual configuration of the aircraft you will be boarding.
- Different seats may be available for selection depending on your membership tier or the type of ticket.
- Some seats are not available for advance seat selection.
Passengers not eligible for advance seat selection - When boarding a codeshare flight, all services are provided by the operating airline, and ancillary services such as advance seat selection, special meals, and lounge access may not be available for some airlines. For more details, please contact our service center or your ticket agency.
When advance seat selection is available
Economy/Premium
Available upon completion of ticket purchase and up to 48 hours prior to departure
Prestige/First
Available upon completion of flight booking and up to 24 hours prior to departure
Expiration of preselected seats
Your requested seat may be changed if you do not complete the check-in process before the time shown below (based on the departure time).
International
First/Prestige/Premium
1 hour before
Economy
1 hour and 30 minutes before
Korea Domestic
Prestige/Economy
30 minutes before
Your seat selection may be changed or cancelled without notice due to reasons such as a change of aircraft.

- Passengers using certain codeshare flights operated by other airlines
- Passengers using charter flights
- International: Passengers flying with T Class
- Korea Domestic: Group ticket passengers
How to select seats in advance
Seat selection during booking
Once you have entered your passenger information, please click “Seat Selection” to select your seat.
For mileage tickets, please proceed with seat selection once the booking is complete.

Select a booking from the booking list or navigate to the “My Trips” menu option to proceed with seat selection.
Once your seat is selected, please verify that your seat number is correct.

During check-in, you can select a seat or change your selected seat.
You can also select a seat in advance when proceeding with automated check-in.
If you select a seat in advance, your mobile boarding pass will be issued automatically 24 hours before departure.
