What is a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight?

This is a domestic flight exclusively for international transit, available on the Busan/Daegu ↔Round trip Incheon route for passengers departing from or returning to Busan/Daegu via Incheon Airport.

From Busan/Daegu International Terminal →  Departure Incheon (Transit) →  After transfer Overseas

• When you check in at the International Terminal of Busan/Daegu Airport, you will be issued a boarding pass for all segments up to your connecting flight, and your baggage will be checked through to your final destination.
• Check-in must be completed 60 minutes before the flight departure.

  • Passengers on domestic transit flights from Busan can proceed directly to the 3rd floor departure area without security screening.
• You can freely use the duty-free shops at Incheon International Airport.

From overseas →  Departure Incheon (Transit) →  After transfer Busan/Daegu International Terminal

• When you check in at an overseas airport, you will be issued a boarding pass for your flight to Busan/Daegu, and your baggage will be checked through to your final destination.

How to book and purchase

• A Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight ticket must be issued as a single ticket with a connecting international flight. (The domestic segment cannot be booked or ticketed separately)
  • Please book an itinerary that includes a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight on the Korean Air website/mobile app.
  • If you using an international flight with another airline or have already purchased an international flight ticket, please contact the ticketing agency to see if you can add a domestic flight segment.
• If you are paying for your connecting flight (international), you need to purchase the Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight ticket as well.
• If you are paying for your connecting flight (international) with your mileage, you need to book the Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight with a Korean Air award ticket.
• The minimum connecting time for transfers is 60 minutes at Terminal 2, and at least 90 minutes is required for transfers at Terminal 1 or the Concourse. Please consider the transfer time when making your booking.

• You can book an itinerary that includes a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight by searching for a 'Busan/Daegu ↔round trip International flight' itinerary.

What you should know

• You cannot board a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight only for the Busan/Daegu - Incheon route (domestic segment).
• If you enter Korea through Incheon Airport instead of your final destination (Busan/Daegu), you cannot board the Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight.
• Liquid items over 100ml purchased at another airport or in-flight must be kept in a sealed security bag to pass security screening.
• The checked baggage allowance for international flights applies when using a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight.

Transfer at Terminal 2 (T2)

• Arrive at Incheon Airport T2 →Next Transfer security screening (2F) →Next Departure area (3F)
  • Passengers on domestic transit flights from Busan can proceed directly to the 3rd floor departure area without security screening.

Terminal 1 (T1) · Concourse Transfer

• Arrive at Incheon Airport T2 →Next Follow transfer signs for 'Terminal 1/Concourse' and pass through the automated transfer gate (connecting flight boarding pass required) →Next Take the shuttle train (B1) →Next Arrive at T1/Concourse →Next Transfer security screening (2F) →Next Departure area (3F)
  • To reach Terminal 1, you need to get off at the Concourse and transfer to the shuttle train bound for Terminal 1.

• Arrive at Incheon Airport T2 →Next Transfer security screening (2F) →Next Boarding gate (3F)
  • If you need to have a boarding pass issued for a flight departing from Incheon to Busan/Daegu, please visit the Korean Air transfer counters located on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
