Restricted Items

The following items are prohibited from the aircraft and cannot be transported in carry-on or checked baggage. (Carry-on prohibited X, checked baggage prohibited X)

Gasoline, paint, lighter fluid, and other combustible or flammable materials

Butane gas cartridges and other pressurized gas containers

Weapons and explosives such as firearms and firecrackers

• Fire extinguishers, aerosols (insecticide, etc.), bleach, and other items which can pose hazards to passengers and the aircraft

The following items can be carried on board in small quantities. (Carry-on △ partially allowed, Checked baggage O allowed)

• International departures and transfers
  • Liquids (sprays) and gels (gels or creams), such as beverages, food, and cosmetics, can be carried on board in individual containers of 100 ml or less, packed in a single 1 L plastic zip-top bag per person.
  • Some items, such as perfume and hairspray, are allowed as checked baggage in individual containers of 500 ml or less, with a total limit of 2 L per person.
  • Alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content between 24% and 70% can be transported as checked baggage, up to 5 L per person.
• Domestic flights
  • Alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content between 24% and 70% can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage, up to 5 L per person.
  • Some items, such as perfume and hairspray, can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage in individual containers of 500 ml or less, with a total limit of 2 L per person.
  • Oxygen cans and oxygen sprays can be transported as checked baggage, with a limit of four 500 ml cans per person (not permitted as carry-on baggage).
• Common to domestic and international flights
  • Ethanol-based hand sanitizer can be carried on board in containers of 100 ml or less, up to a total of 500 ml per person (when transported as checked baggage, up to 500 ml is allowed without restriction on container size).

Personal medication required for travel

Passengers must be able to present a medical certificate or prescription for prescription drugs.

MacBook Pro with battery fire hazard (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) that has not been recalled and repaired is prohibited from the aircraft (carry-on/checked baggage) or only allowed for carry-on in some countries/airports.

Please use laptops and other portable devices carefully during the flight to prevent overheating and fire. If any items fall between the seats, please ask our cabin crew for assistance.

In some countries, e-cigarette-related items are strictly prohibited. Check whether e-cigarettes are allowed in your destination country prior to your travel. If lighters are packed in checked baggage, they will be disposed of during X-ray screening.

• Travel regulations (Carry-on allowed O, checked baggage allowed O) : Devices must be powered off when transported in checked baggage.

• Lithium metal/alloy batteries of capacities over 2 g and up to 8 g are only permitted for portable medical devices such as POC and CPAP. Spare lithium metal/alloy batteries of capacities over 2 g in general electronic devices are not permitted in carry-on or checked baggage.
• Please use laptops and other portable devices carefully during the flight to prevent overheating and fire. If any items fall between the seats, please ask our cabin crew for assistance.
• Devices with non-removable batteries that generate heat are prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage.
  • Hair curlers/straighteners, cordless iron, underwater high-brightness lamp, etc.

Cordless hair irons with removable batteries or a physical battery disconnection feature (fuse cutoff) can be carried on board after airline approval (cannot be checked). Airplane modes such as button-type and lock-type are not permitted for transport

• Travel regulations (Carry-on allowed O, checked baggage prohibited X) : The use and charging of power banks on board are strictly prohibited.

Batteries may not be transported if they exceed the maximum limit or cannot be confirmed (not permitted in either carry-on or checked baggage).

Transportation may be refused if batteries show signs of danger, such as overheating, damage, or swelling.

For flights departing from overseas, stricter regulations may apply depending on the airport or country.

• To prevent short circuits, batteries must be placed individually in transparent plastic bags or with terminals wrapped with electrical tape when carrying on board. Storing them in the overhead bin is strictly prohibited.
• More than 6 spare lithium batteries with a capacity of 100 Wh or less can be carried on your person only for special purposes such as medical use. (A maximum of 20 batteries is permitted.)
• Spare batteries may be used on board for medical purposes only (e.g., POC, CPAP).

• Combinations of the number of batteries permitted as carry-on

For capacities over 100 Wh and up to 160 Wh, a combined total of up to two power banks and spare batteries is permitted per person.

• Electric wheelchairs with a lithium battery (Carry-on allowed O, checked baggage is prohibited X)
  • Maximum capacity for removable lithium batteries 300 Wh or less (carried by passengers)
  • Spare batteries (other than wheelchair batteries)
    • One battery: 300 Wh or less
    • Two batteries: 160 Wh or less each
  • If a battery is not removable, you must make sure it is attached securely on the electric wheelchair and take the necessary measures to prevent short circuits.
    • If short-circuit prevention is not possible, transportation is not permitted
• Electric wheelchairs with a dry cell or wet cell battery (Carry-on is prohibited X, checked baggage allowed O)
  • Information on removability must be provided
  • Information on the battery type (dry cell or wet cell) must be provided
  • For wet cell batteries, information on whether batteries are spillable or non-spillable must be provided

• Korea domestic flight: Can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage
• International flight: Animal products such as beef braised in soy sauce, ham, and sausage, and unprocessed foods such as uncooked rice, fruits, vegetables, and dried nuts are restricted. It is recommended to vacuum-pack side dishes like kimchi or salted seafood in small quantities (Please check the quarantine and customs regulations of the destination country)

• Pocket hand warmers can be transported as carry-on and checked baggage.
  • However, transportation may be restricted depending on the product's characteristics, regulations for lithium batteries, flammable or combustible materials, and liquids, as well as the relevant regulations of each airport and the discretion of security screening personnel.

• Cremated remains in powder form may be transported as carry-on or checked baggage, but bodies, uncremated remains, or cremated remains not in powder form may only be transported as cargo
• For the transport of remains on international flights, a death certificate, cremation certificate, and documents required by the destination country must be prepared (Please inquire at the embassy of the country concerned)

What you should know

• If an airport security supervisor determines during an X-ray screening that an item may pose a risk to the safety of the aircraft, passengers, or cabin crew, it may be opened for inspection and restricted from transport (disposed of), and the airline is obligated to comply.
• If a restricted carry-on item is found during the security screening process, you must return to the check-in counter to check the item separately. The airline cannot store your items for safety and security reasons.
