Eligible passengers

Korean nationals on an international flight with a Korean Air flight number operated by Korean Air 

  • A passenger who is 70 years or older and traveling alone
  • Single passengers traveling with 2 or more infants or children under the age of 7

Applicable airports

  • Americas: All destinations except Guam
    • Limited services for San Francisco Airport in accordance with immigration guidelines
  • Europe: London, Paris, Frankfurt
  • Oceania: Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane

Service information

Passengers are guided from the counter to the departure boarding gate
Passengers are guided at the arrival destination
Passengers are guided to the boarding gate of the connecting flight

  • Passengers needing assistance can check in at a dedicated counter, and the staff in charge will guide the passengers to their gate.
  • Passengers who have requested the Family Care Service can board first.
  • A separate baggage tag will be attached so that you can find your baggage with priority.

The staff in charge will guide the passengers to the boarding gate of the connecting flight.

  • If the airport does not have a dedicated counter, please ask a staff member.
  • Passengers departing from Korea must proceed separately after receiving guidance from staff at the counter.
  • You cannot use this service if you have personal business to attend to, such as making a duty-free purchase.

You must go through the same immigration and customs procedures as regular passengers.

  • When taking a one-way Korean Air flight after boarding a flight of another airline: You can use the Family Service from the time you arrive at the check-in counter of Korean Air.
  • When taking a one-way connecting flight of another airline after boarding a Korean Air flight: If the staff cannot go all the way to the gate due to airport conditions, the passengers will be guided to the point where the staff can accompany them.

What you should know

  • Services are offered only for Korean Air flights with a Korean Air flight number. 
  • Passengers using a codeshare flight are not eligible for the services.
    • E.g., a passenger who purchases a flight ticket from Delta Air Lines (seller) and boards DL7859 (operating number KE017) with Korean Air (operator)
    • E.g., a passenger who purchases a flight ticket from Korean Air (seller) and boards KE5901 (operating number AF267) with Air France (operator)
  • When applying for the service, please tell us your reasons for applying (aged 70 or more, or traveling with an infant/child) and the scope of your trip (departure/arrival/transfer).
  • It can be difficult to assign staff who can speak Korean depending on circumstances in overseas airports.
  • Interpretation is not provided during immigration and customs clearance processes.
