Eligible persons for family registration

• Family members eligible for registration include spouse, parents/parents-in-law, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law.
• Grandparents are limited to four people, and parents/parents-in-law are each limited to two people. A spouse is limited to one person. Other family members can be registered without limit.
• Your family members will be notified when they are registered, at which time you will also become their registered family member.

Prepare documents that prove your family relations.

• A document officially issued within one year that states family relations, names, and dates of birth of the applicant and family members to be registered
  • Issued in Korea: Family relation certificate, resident registration certificate, marriage certificate, etc.
  • Issued outside of Korea: ID (passport, etc.), family relation certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate, tax report, etc.
    • If supporting documents do not state the date of birth, the applicant and relevant family member are required to submit a copy of personal identification documents that state the date of birth.
    • Documents that do not establish family ties, such as health insurance cards, filing receipts or wedding invitations, and other unofficial read-only or preview documents are not accepted.
    • Attaching a family relation certificate issued by the Family Relations Registration System (https://efamily.scourt.go.kr) may expedite the process.
    • In the interest of protecting personal information, please black out unique identifying numbers such as the latter part of resident registration numbers on any supporting documents before submission.

What you should know

• Family registration can only be requested by the member, and only SKYPASS members are eligible for registration. (Applies to adults, children and infants.)
• The applicant and registered family members will be notified upon family registration, and a family member cannot be registered if their contact information is not in their profile. (A text message or Alim Talk will be sent upon completion of family registration, and an email with the reason will be sent if registration is not possible)
• You will also become their registered family member. If you do not wish to pool mileage or endorse awards with registered family members (Check My Family Plan), please delete the registered family member from the menu. Upon deletion, the applicant and the family member will be notified.
• Adding family members does not automatically pool mileage to a single account, nor does it generate a joint account.
• In some cases, additional documentation may be required for family registration. Please contact the service center for more information on documents demonstrating family relationships.
