Award ticket booking regulations
Awards are applicable to Korean Air routes and may be limited when using codeshare flights operated by partner airlines.
Award tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
You cannot stay at a transfer point that is not the destination. You must transfer within 24 hours.
If traveling on international flights with domestic flight connections in Korea (including Transit Exclusive Domestic Flights), additional miles will be deducted for the domestic segment.
You can purchase an award ticket to book a separate seat to use it for your convenience or to carry a musical instrument on board.
Purchasing award tickets for infants and children
The same amount of mileage for adults is deducted for children and infants occupying a seat.
For infants not occupying a seat on international flights, 10% of the mileage for adults is deducted. For domestic flights in Korea, infants can travel free of charge.

Award tickets must be used in the order of the stated flights.
Award tickets are subject to applicable fees, taxes, and fuel surcharges.
Award ticket purchases or changes at the service center or branch office may be subject to ticket service charges.
When traveling on an international flight using an award ticket, booking and ticket purchase must be completed beforehand. You cannot be waitlisted at the airport.
Award tickets cannot be used for Americas–Guam routes with a transfer in Korea.
